孙兰军教授认为心衰往往由其他心系疾病发展而来，与五脏、气血密切相关，通过分析气血理论对心衰的致病机制，将其总结为气虚血瘀水停及气滞血瘀两型。气虚血瘀水停治以益气活血利水，临床常常选用党参、黄芪、太子参等扶助正气，酌加干姜、冬瓜皮等或温阳或利水；气滞血瘀治以疏肝理气活血，常常选用丹参、红花等活血化瘀，加柴胡、川芎等疏肝，或当归、白芍等柔肝。

Clinically,Codonopsis,Radix Astragalus and Radix pseudostellariae are often used to support healthy qi,and dried ginger and wax gourd peel are added to warm yang or alleviate water retention;The treatment of qi stagnation and blood stasis focuses on soothing liver,regulating qi and promoting blood circulation. Salvia miltiorrhiza and safflower are often used to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis,and bupleurum and ligusticum Chuanxiong are added to soothe the liver,or angelica sinensis and paeony are added to soften the liver.
